The 4-H Shooting Sports program is an engaging and educational Science & Technology program that is led by trained and certified 4-H Shooting Sports instructors. This program is offered in a group setting, where members are guided and taught important skills related to rifle, shotgun, pistol, muzzleloader, archery, and hunting/wildlife.
It’s important to note that direct supervision by a certified instructor is required for any 4-H member who wishes to enroll in shooting sports projects. Project record books are available for members to set goals, track progress, and keep necessary records.
Participation in any shooting sports project requires the physical size to handle the shooting equipment and the maturity to follow directions and adhere to all safety protocols. The program is designed for 4-H members between the ages of 9 and 18.
Through the 4-H Shooting Sports program, our members gain a deeper understanding of firearm safety, marksmanship, and respect for the sport. They also have the opportunity to compete at the state and national level, with older members representing the state of Ohio at the National 4-H Shooting Invitational in Grand Island, Nebraska.
We take great pride in our 4-H Shooting Sports program and the many benefits it offers to our members. If you’re interested in learning more about this exciting program or becoming a member of our club, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
We are honored to extend our gratitude to the Friends of NRA and the Maumee Valley Friends of NRA committee for their generous support of our club. Thanks to their unwavering commitment, we are able to offer a range of quality equipment and resources to our members, which helps them to develop their skills and achieve their goals.
Their support has been invaluable to us, and we are grateful for their ongoing partnership with our club. Without their help, we would not be able to provide the same level of quality experiences and opportunities to our members. Thank you, Friends of NRA and Maumee Valley Friends of NRA committee, for your continued support of our club.
